Episode 78: 24 DVD Board Game

The following podcast takes place in real time...except for all the boring stuff we cut out. We're playing the 24: DVD Board Game, where players help Jack Bauer to thwart terrorist threats by using such controversial tactics as navigating through slow, clunky menus with a DVD remote. It's a series of mini-games that combine the action packed "Thrills" of Dragon's Lair with the gritty, rule-breaking realism of "24" (toned down for family play, of course). Does this title capture the intensity and drama of the fight against terror, or is it really a mole waiting patiently in our collection? Plus: a Battle of Wits where nobody can be trusted...

From the Desk of Your Moderator Chris: The Summer of BANCE Continues!

So over the last three years, I've gotten these two questions a lot...

1. How do I support Flip the Table?

2. Where does the music from the show come from?

And over the years, I've answered those questions this way:

1. Keep listening to the show and spreading the word about us!

2. Who does our music? Well...me! All of our music is composed using Acid Music Studio, using premade loops recombined into original art. With the exception of one song which I made on my keyboard many years ago, all of our music comes from this software.

Now, looking back on three years, I can see that FTT has grown tremendously. Our listenership is higher than I ever could have imagined, and the outpouring of support we get on a regular basis is humbling and overwhelming. So now, we find ourselves at a tipping point where we want to do even bigger and better things to connect with our fans.

That's where you come in.

After polling the Flipster Army on BGG and Facebook a while back and getting a lot of great feedback, I'm pleased to announce that you can now support Flip the Table on Patreon!

AND: As a reward for doing so, at any pledge level, you'll get to download the NEW Flip the Table Deluxe Soundtrack! We're finally making all the best music from our show available to the public...our theme song, the Battle of Wits music, the music from our commercials, our previously released "Freebie" tracks, and even a whole bunch of the crazy remixes at the end of the show...including the Mall Madness song, the Vanilla BANCE Rap, and the BANCE-apella cover! Over 20 tracks, for 20ish minutes of fun! PLUS: This is a living album! The more episodes we make, the more tracks we'll add to the soundtrack over time!

To be clear: Our show has always and shall remain free to everybody, and that won't change. With that said, what we hope to accomplish with this campaign is to raise enough money to cover our basic expenses (hosting, blown mics and cables), upgrade our equipment and the loops for our music library...and if we do really really well, to be able to get out to more of the bigger conventions to meet with fans like you.

Whether you choose to support us financially, or simply support us by enjoying the show for free and spreading the word, we appreciate each and every single one of you Flipsters out there. You have brought us so much joy over the years, and we appreciate your support, in whatever form that takes.

So! If you're interested in becoming a Patron and helping us continue our mission of bringing the world of cheesy, weird, and obscure board games into your years, just click the link below to get started!

And as always, thank you. You're the reason we do this.

Sincerely,
YOUR MODERATOR CHRIS
